Welcome to my practice!
I’m glad you’re here. I am a clinical social worker who provides individual psychotherapy for those in the great State of Texas seeking stability, integration, and wellness. I have spent the past fifteen years working within systems of child welfare, dis/abilities, health care for the homeless, psychiatric hospitalization, federal justice, and with military service members, first responders, and their families. My clinical focus and specialty is within the first-responder community, where I serve active/reserve/retired military, police, fire, dispatch, emergency medicine, and others who identify as “helpers” across the state of Texas.
I draw from rigorous training in evidence-based treatment while offering an integrative approach that includes movement, acupuncture, sound, nature, and animal-assisted therapy.
When I'm not in the office, I can be found on my yoga mat, listening to public radio, reading, cooking, spending time with my family, or hiking with my dog (and co-therapist), Jaya.
For folks who like the facts: I received my Bachelor of Social Work at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, California, my Master of Social Work at Nazareth College (The Greater Rochester Collaborative) in Rochester, New York, and am an incoming Doctor of Social Work student at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Supervisor (TX), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (TX), Certified Group Psychotherapist, Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Acudetox Specialist (TX), and Animal Assisted Therapist.
Empowered To Heal
YOU CAN DO THIS
All people have the capacity to self-heal. Change can occur through a compassionate and respectful therapeutic alliance between us. I use a blend of relational, body-centered, and cognitive interventions drawn from a foundation in attachment theory, affect-regulation, and depth-oriented perspectives. In treatment, we will build upon your strengths, keeping your goals in mind every step of the way.
Can't Breathe?
WHAT I OFFER
While I am drawn to the creativity and uniqueness of each individual, I value the systemic process that can be offered by evidence-based practice. Tools and interventions I bring into treatment have been extensively researched and are proven to create recovery that is lasting. A few of these models include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am an advocate of life-long learning and am routinely engaged in post-graduate training. My current advanced studies include Yoga Therapy, Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy, and Internal Family Systems.
Seek Joy
MY PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Living well is not only the absence of suffering, but also the presence of joy, fulfillment, and purpose. Healing comes from nurturing and restoring resilience—something each of us has—while making space for personality, character, and values to determine what it means to thrive. We will work to better understand your relationship with yourself, with others, and with the world, while identifying and adjusting patterns of thinking or being that keep you stuck. When empowered to use the tools and resources within yourself, you can achieve a life that feels integrated, authentic, and meaningful.
FEES + INSURANCE
I provide in-person, telehealth, and “walk-and-talk” forms of psychotherapy. Session length and frequency are decided entirely by you. I often recommend weekly sessions initially as a means of building momentum and establishing a strong sense of direction, and I encourage you to reach out so that we can discuss and find a schedule that works best for you. My fees are $125 per 50-minute intake/follow-up session (standard session length, particularly for weekly sessions), $175 per 80-minute extended session (recommended for intensive work or less frequent sessions), and $50 per 90-minute group session. Clinical services may be covered in part or in full by your health insurance plan, and I am currently an “out-of-network” provider. I am committed to providing psychotherapy that is inclusive, safe, and affirming for all. A sliding-fee scale based on annual income is available for clients who experience financial hardship. Please e-mail for more information at rgs@robingsontheimer.com.
Please note that I am not accepting new clients at this time.
